At first, the conductor is stable and the electric current is zero. As the conductor starts rotating, the electric current is modified: It gradually increases, reaches its highest point and then starts decreasing, reaches zero point (when the coil has rotated 180 degrees), continues by reaching its maximum negative value, returns to point zero and the cycle goes on for several times per minute. If there are 3 conductors, connected in a 120-degree angle, they generate power that is widely known as three-phase electric power.
Theoretically, we can generate multi-phase power but three-phase electric power is the most common in modern power stations.
